The Provincial Commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Daphney Manamela has strongly condemned the brutal murder of the father and his entire family members while at the same time launched a massive manhunt for suspects following a sad and horrific incident in which the entire family of a business owner was fatally shot allegedly by two male suspects yesterday night, Tuesday 08 March 2022.
It has been reported that yesterday night at around 19h30, neighbours heard sounds of gunshots coming from the house of the said business owner at Rebone in Casteel near Bushbuckridge. Thereafter two men were seen jumping over a wall towards the direction of R40 Road and then disappear into the darkness.
Subsequently Police and the Medical Personnel were notified about the incident. Upon their arrival they found that a man aged 58, his wife aged 50 and their two daughters, aged 11 and 08 were shot and unfortunately certified dead. All the victims had gunshot wounds.
Police opened a case with four counts of murder hence the manhunt for suspects.
The motive for the killing is unknown at this stage and the victims were identified by their family as Mr Johnson Fakude (58), a business owner of Faduk Cash Loans in Bushbuckridge and Acornhoek, his wife, Ms Gift Matsane (50), their two daughters, Princess Fakude (11) and Priscilla Fakude (08).
Police in Bushbuckridge urge anyone with information about the incident or the whereabouts of the suspects to contact the Branch Commander, Detective Colonel Dumisani Mbokane on 082 556 5630 or call the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111. Alternatively members of the public can share information via MYSAPSAPP. All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous.
