The South African Police Service will be hosting a Learning Environment Safety Summit between the 8th and 9th March 2022 at Tshwane University of Technology, Mbombela Mpumalanga. The Consultative Summit by South Africa Police Service partnering with the Department of Basic Education, Department of Higher Education and Training in collaboration with social partners.
The summit is to address safety concerns of learners, students, lecturers, educators, college and university communities. The stakeholders variation extends to the National School Safety steering Committee, Campus Protection Society of Southern forum, South African Public Colleges Organisation, Universities of Southern African Forum, South African Union of Students, South African Technical, Vocational Education and Training Student Association, government departments and strategic non-departments organisations.
The South African Police Service Marketing team engaged with few students, security guards and the residence manager from TUT Mbombela students residence. The reason for the engagement was to gather more information with regards to safety within the campus and residential area.
