Anesh Sukdeo, the convicted racist’s legal representative, told TimesLive on Thursday that she wanted to take legal action afterdeclaringher apprehension on the 6th of November was illegal.
Anesh Sukdeo says, “The police lied and said they had a warrant of arrest against Miss Momberg. What they had instead was an order of apprehension, which is different from a warrant of arrest. When she appeared in court, the magistrate said she did not have jurisdiction over the matter.” The lawyer says she is taking legal action against the departments and the National Director of Public Prosecutions for R8.5 million, R2.5 million for illegal apprehension and imprisonment, R1 million for pain and defamation, R2.5 million for malicious legal proceedings and R2.5 million for unjust and spiteful legal proceedings. The lawyer says his legal team has sent the notice to sue the ones involved through e-mail and registered post.
Anesh Sukdeo stated that Vicki Momberg was in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The spokesperson for the police department, Lirandzu Themba, says they have not gotten correlation from Vicki Momberg’s legal representatives. “Lirandzu Themba says, “I’ve just been in touch with our legal team and they said they did not receive anything from Vicki Momberg, let alone her legal team.”
