Doctor Slams Man For Saying SA Doctors Don’t Have Patience. A doctor gave a man who a Twitter user who made a statement about South African doctor’s not being patient people.

A doctor gave a man who a Twitter user who made a statement about South African doctor’s not being patient people. The doctor let the man know about her experience with a baby that needed attention when the baby was born. The doctor, Dr Lerato Masemola, ended up telling the man to not generalise South African doctors.

The man was replying to a video that one doctor retweeted of international doctors resuscitating a new born baby for 20 minutes. The doctor said: “This is why I love my job.” The man responded to the doctor by saying “South African doctors have no time for this 20mins patience. They woul have declared this poor soul dead.” That’s where Doctor Lerato Masemola came with her subtle clap back.

“I’ve resuscitate a 900g baby born at 27weeks, at a level 1 rural hospital, [without] a ventilator/ paediatrician. I kept her alive by manually breathing for her all night coz I didn’t trust anyone to have my patience. I discharged her 2 [months] later weighing 1,8kg. Don’t generalize.” Other tweeps also responded by speaking about their experiences or the experiences that their family members had. One tweep spoke about how doctors helped her daughter for 45 minutes even though she didn’t get to live.

The tweep says, “When we took my daughter to hospital after she stopped breathing they worked on her for 45mins. She didn’t make it but they tried for as long as they could…even if my baby didn’t make it. It helps to know they fought.” Dineo Moeketsi says, “You’re a Godesend Doc. Please don’t ever stop.” One tweep says, “My nephew was bor at 28 weeks weiging 900g at Coronation Hospital. She stayed with her baby in hospital for 2 months, her baby in Intensive Care Unit and the doctors were there 24/7. My nephew turned 7 in February this year…”
