Zodwa Wabantu has admitted that she is not a fan of having an entourage. The thought started way before she became famous and she was hustling. A person like Zodwa Wabantu seems to be a person who has a group friends following her but she prefers doing her things alone. The performer says that knowledge of knowing that groups aren’t good for everybody has helped her stay relevant.
The performer told TimesLive that she has long decided that her trust would be towards herself and may be moved on to her son too, nobody else. She went on to say that she trusts herself because she’s been through a lot alone. The performer says, “I only trust Zodwa Wabantu. When it was hard, I was there for me and now that it has gotten easier I am still here for me. I learnt a longtimme ago that trusting yourself is the best thing you can do for yourself. I’m not gonna change that especially not now. In a fake industry like this and where people are always ready to sell you out. I love everyone but I roll alone.”
She once spoke to some of her “so-called friends” who would gossip behind her back but ask her for help. During the time she heard that some of her friends were talking about her behind her back. “…To the ‘so-called friends’…those who come to me when they need me and those who don’t have a place to stay or money…Please stop spreading rumours that I think too much of myself and that my flats are filthy.” The performer always lets people know that she likes rolling alone.
