Twitter Believes That Man Vandalised His Bakkie To Get An insurance Pay-out. In the North-West, police have started an examination after a farmer’s bakkie was set on fire and vandalised.

In the North-West, police have started an examination after a farmer’s bakkie was set on fire and vandalised. Lieutenant-Colonel Amanda Funani, the police spokesperson, on Monday said they were looking at malevolent damage to property. Apparently a 38-year-old farmer was alerted by his dog.

The police spokesperson says, “The 38-year-old victim heard his dog barking and went to investigate. He saw his vehicle burning. He alerted the police. No arrests have been made.” It is reported that four men managed to get into the farmer’s house though a window while an elderly couple and the 38-year-old were asleep. Once they were in the house, the criminals confronted the couple, requesting for money and attacked them with machetes. The 38-year-old woke up, thereby interceding with his gun. While exchanging fires, the man got shot in the leg and got the chance to hit one of the suspects.

According to a Tweet the men also burned and wrote “Kill the B**r” on the farmers bakkie. However, people on Twitter do not believe that the alleged criminals burned and vandalised the bakkie. People believe that the man was just trying to claim from the insurance. Some tweeps noted some things wrong in the spray paint on the vehicle. One tweep says, “That farmer burnt his own bakkie. Nobody is buying spray paint & making hash tags for crime in a rural area – this is not a university protest.” Actor Vuyolwethu Ngcukana says, “I hope the insurer does a thorough check on this because this just looks like a claim that’s going to be repudiated, they tried it shame.”
