Tracy Morgan’s new TV series has been put on ice following his car accident.

The comedian, who is in a critical but stable condition in a New Jersey hospital after the limo he was travelling in was involved in a six-vehicle pile up on Saturday (07.06.14), was due to start filming his upcoming untitled comedy show for FXX in August, but producers have decided to put it on hold until the former ’30 Rock’ star is ready to return to work.

The network issued the following statement today (10.06.14): “The only thing we are concerned with is the health and recovery of Tracy Morgan and the victims of this tragic accident.

“We will support Tracy and his family in every way possible throughout his recovery. At the point when Tracy has recovered and decides that he is ready to go back to work, his show will be waiting for him. Right now our thoughts and prayers remain with Tracy, the other victims of the accident, and their families.”

The 45-year-old actor was on his way home for a comedy show in Delaware when his limo bus was hit by a Walmart vehicle and overturned on the New Jersey Turnpike.

He sustained a number of injuries, including a broken femur, a broken nose and broken ribs, and his spokesperson previously predicted his recovery would be “arduous.”

The collision killed Tracy’s fellow passenger, comedian James McNair, who performed under the name Jimmy Mack, and comedians Ardie Fuqua and Harris Stanton were also among the injured.
