A taxi driver has been apprehended allegedly for throwing a brick at another motorist in Johannesburg, Gauteng. The metro police released a statement regarding the matter on Friday. A video recording of the taxi driver allegedly throwing the brick made rounds on the internet. Chief superintendent Wayne Minaar, the Johannesburg Metro police Spokesperson, says the instance occurred on Wednesday.

After some examination it was found that the taxi driver was linked to the Alexandra Taxi Association, says the Johannesburg Metro police. He was apprehended on Thursday. Chief superintendent Wayne Minaar says, “The victim and owner of the white VW kombi is requested to proceed to Norwood police station, where he or she is needed to make a statement.

The Chief of Police, David Tembe, thanked the taxi association for their help. “Thank you to ATA Alexandra Taxi Association who assisted [Johannesburg Metro Police Department] Freeway officers to apprehend this minibus taxi driver who was seen throwing a brick at another vehicle.,” says the Johannesburg Metro Police spokesperson. In the video recording, the man can be seen supposedly knocking on the window of the van. He then can be seen slamming the window with a brick before the car takes off. When the car just takes off the man then throws the brick at the vehicle.
