Tavern owner shot dead and suspect sought – Eastern Cape

Three suspects arrested after high speed chase in Ottery, Grassy Park - Western Cape

SAPS Walmer detectives are appealing to the Walmer community to assist them in a murder investigation after a tavern owner was fatally shot over the weekend.

According to police information, at about 20:30, on Saturday evening, 21 August 2021, police attended a shooting complaint at a tavern in Songololo Street in Walmer.  On arrival, the body of the owner, Lwandile Sithole (41) was found lying outside with multiple gunshot wounds.

The motive for the murder is yet to be established and the suspect is unknown at this stage. Police investigations continue.
