Singer Yvonne Chaka Chaka’s Daughter’s Shop Looted During The Joburg CBD Protests. The looters went away with her whole supply this weekend.

Fortunate, Yvonne Chaka Chaka’s daughter, was one of the business people that had lost their assets when the looters ruined her shop in Maboneng in Johannesburg. The looters went away with her whole supply this weekend. When the singer and mother came back from Namibia she heard the story of her daughter’s business area being terrorised.

On her social media account, the singer says “Came back from Namibia this is what I found my daughter’s shop broken into and looted I am shuttered…lawlessness.” According to TimesLive, she says that they have also stolen her daughter’s mannequins. “They stole everything, all the clothes and everything in the shop. Even the mannequins are on the floor. It is terrible. There was a lot of damage,” says Yvonne Chaka Chaka.

According Yvonne Chaka Chaka, her daughter put her own money in the business, also recruiting 35 employees involving seamstresses at a factory. She says that she doesn’t know what this will mean for the future of her daughter’s store because she lost a lot. “I try to fund her as much as I can but she is very independent and put everything she had into the store. There are a lot of losses and we don’t know what this means for the future of the shop. We can’t continue like this,” says the musician.
