In commemoration of Child Protection Week (29 May to 05 June), members of the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Gauteng together with various stakeholders visited schools across the province to educate learners about children’s rights, the different forms of violence, abuse, neglect and exploitation as well as general safety within the school environment.
Learners from various schools across the province received a visit by the police during this past week. Some of these schools are: Lehwelere Secondary school (Hammanskraal), Dolphins Learning Centre (Katlehong), Kameelfontein Primary school (Kameeldrift), Smiley Kids (Primrose), Avante Primary school (Randfontein), Thuthuzela Day Care Centre (Bramley), Zuurbekom Intermediate school (Bekkersdal), Ekurhuleni Primary school (Germiston), and Orange Farms Primary school (Orange Farms).
The campaign aims to ensure all children are safe and feel safe during Child Protection Week and beyond.
