PORT ELIZABETH – Detectives at SAPS Algoa Park are searching for four suspects allegedly involved in the robbery and murder of a 23-year-old-man during the early hours of this morning, 04 November 2020.

It is alleged that at about 01:00, Denver Simons of Trooper Street in Balfour Heights and a friend were walking in Corsa Street when they were approached by four males. Two of the males are known to them. One of the suspects was armed with a firearm and the other three had knives. The four males threatened Simons and his friend before searching them. They took R10-00 from the friend and Simons’s cellphone and music box. When Simons refused to give the cellphone and music box, a scuffle ensued. He was fatally stabbed once in his neck. The suspects then ran away leaving the music box behind. Simons passed away on the scene.

A case of murder and robbery is under investigation.

In another unrelated incident, on 03 November 2020 at about 17:15 Stefano Rossouw (18) was seen walking with three unknown males in Jack Street, Missionvale. It is alleged that they were arguing about money. A short while later, Rossouw was found lying in a pool of blood by a member of the community. He sustained an open wound on his head.

A case of murder was opened for further investigation.

Anyone who can assist police in tracing the suspects in both murder cases is asked to contact SAPS Algoa Park detectives on 041 401 1061 or Crime Stop 08600 10111 or their nearest police station. All information is strictly confidential.
