Police In Pursuit Of Baby Stealer. The female escorted the mother while she was doing her shopping.
Limpopo police have recently started a search program for a female who reportedly stole a six-month-old baby. The female stole the baby at the Mokopane Shopping Centre in Limpopo this past Thursday. The unknown female apparently made friends with the baby’s 24-year-old mother at the shopping centre.
The female then escorted the mother while she was doing her shopping. According to the police, the mother bought herself food while at the same time also offering to buy the unknown female food. The stranger turned down the offer. “The suspect offered to hold the baby instead so that the mother can eat,” says the police.
The police carry on saying that later on, at about 1:40 pm, the suspect and the mother of the baby went to another grocery store. The suspect was still carrying the baby at the time. “Without the mother noticing, the suspect disappeared with the infant,” says the police.
According to the police, the suspect that stole the baby is reported to be in her twenties, has long plaited hair, is a lightweight and she also has a dark complexion. A high-level task team has been deployed. The task team is being guided by commissioner Major-General Samson Manala.
“Acting Police Provincial commissioner in Limpopo Major – General Jan Scheepers has established a high level task team led by the deputy the deputy Provincial Commissioner responsible for crime Major – General Samson Manala in tracing the suspects involved in this matter and the possible recovery of the stolen baby,” says police spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe.
Ngoepe is also asking citizens to help by looking out for the suspect.
