KwaZulu-Natal: At 09H33 Tuesday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a structural collapse on Yusuf Dadoo Street in Durban Central.
Reports from the scene indicate that a section of the outside balcony had collapsed.
Medics assessed the scene and found one person had sustained fatal injuries and multiple other had sustained minor to moderate injuries.
Multiple people are believed to be trapped inside the collapsed concrete structure.
The SAPS Search and Rescue, Metro Police Search and Rescue as well as the Ethekwini Fire and Rescue Services are on scene and conducting rescue efforts.
