Mzansi Tweeps Express Their Sorrow For The Killing Of 18-Year-Old Gomolemo Legae #RIPGomolemoLegae. Gomolemo Legae, an 18-year-old, was stabbed 25 times supposedly by a 19-year-old man.

Gomolemo Legae, an 18-year-old, was stabbed 25 times supposedly by a 19-year-old man. The man also went back to pour petrol on her and set her on fire. Gadifele Mashetla, Gomolemo Legae’s aunt, says the person who murdered her niece was determined to kill her. The aunt says, “We’re told by pathologists that she was stabbed more than 25 times in the chest and back but Gomolemo fought on, refusing to die. He then went and bought petrol which he used to her alight.”

The event happened in Mahikeng, North West. The aunt says Gomolemo Legae would have been saved if the ambulance responded earlier. Mzansi tweeps went on to express their sorrow from the event that occurred. Some tweeps have emphasised the issue we have in South Africa of men killing women. Brand influencer, Hermaine M, says, “Another female killed in South Africa…” One tweep says, “What’s wrong with South African men???Why so much hate & bitterness towards women??? This is too much.”

One tweep says, “How do we deal with this…I think [its] time we relook at death penalty. The rehabilitation is not working cause it still leaves scares to the victims and family members.” One tweep says, “there’s something toxic with the air in SA these days, these high murder rates are abnormal seriously, and they are getting gruesome as ever. We are loosing the battle in taking care of the girl child and grooming real men…” One tweep says, “What scares me most is how many more women have died such gruesome deaths and their deaths have gone unreported?”
