The return was given back as a victorious land expropriation claim. The farm that was named to represent the community, it was named Tiakeni.

The show is produced by the Tshedza Pictures producers, Phatutshedzo Makwarela and Gwydion Beynon. The two producers are the ones that are responsible for the highly acclaimed 1Magic telenovela, The River. Makwarela was the one who came up with the concept of the show.

They sent the idea to the SABC around 2014 when the corporation was looking for telenovelas to be broadcasted on televisions. Some tweeps loved the music, others already have their favourite characters and others are just happy that the Xitsonga culture is represented on television. One tweep says, “I was more than impressed tonight.” Another fan says, “I am at peace that I no longer have to read subtitles heyy”
