Mpumalanga Police Arrest Three Fake Cops For Alleged Robberies. Three suspects have been apprehended by the Mpumalanga police along with the Tracker Connect Team on Thursday.

Three suspects have been apprehended by the Mpumalanga police along with the Tracker Connect Team on Thursday. The three suspects were apprehended for acting as police officials, robbery and having suspected stolen belongings. Mpumalanga has been having an issue with hijackings and robberies with people acting as police officials.

On the 13th of February, a group of three friends were robbed of their belongings by four guys that were acting as police officials close to Delmas. Brigadier Leonard Hlathi, the Mpumalanga police spokesperson, says the apprehension on the three suspects was part of the police’s hands in ending the robberies and bring the suspects that act as law officials to justice. He says the robbers would have the victims pull over and then rob them of their belongings by the N12 near Delmas and the N4 near Emalahleni, also between Bronkhorstspruit and Balmoral and the places around them.

The Mpumalanga spokesperson says, “Police have registered a number of cases where suspects masquerading as law enforcement agencies would flash blue lights at motorists signalling them to stop, then rob them of their belongings, or cargo in the case of trucks. Some of the victims happen to be foreign nationals and domestic tourists who are usually followed from Gauteng and then pounce on around Witbank and Delmas. In Delmas, vehicles that are targeted include trucks transporting different Cargo.”

The spokesperson carries on saying they stop drivers by flashing a blue light and then coerce the drivers into driving to secluded places. They then tie them up and empty the cargo loads, leaving the victims in the bushes with no help. Most of the cases were laid at the Delmas police station, according to Brigadier Leonard Hlathi. The officials looked closely at the trends of the suspects from Gauteng. Some victims were tailed from Mbombela and other places in the Lowveld, they were thus attacked in Emalahleni and Delmas. On Thursday, the police officials cornered a suspect in Emalahleni after a high-speed chase, which ended up in the three suspects being apprehended with the possession of allegedly stolen belongings such as cellphones and more.
