Minister Of Police Bheki Cele Says AfriForum Wants To Embarrass The Justice System, Not Solve The Case. The Minister of Police Bheki Cele has talked regarding AfriForum having its own examination into the killing of Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa.

The Minister of Police Bheki Cele has talked regarding AfriForum having its own examination into the killing of Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa. Bheki Cele says Afriforum just wants to embarrass the justice system, while the officials want to resolve the case. He told a large group of journaalists at the 9th Popcru Congress at the Durban International Convention Centre.

He states that even though the case has been going on for a while not resolved yet, he was happy with the efforts from the police officials. “AfriForum said they were here to embarrass the justice system, not solve the case. To me that was a telling statement. We are not here to embarrass anyone . We are here to solve the matter and I want to insist that the matter will be solved,” says the Minister of Police.

Bheki Cele says the family is satisfied with the efforts of the police. Even though people had not been arrested almost five years later after the murder, the Minister of Police says the officials were doing their best. “Police will do the work. They will get the advice from the prosecutor so that [we] go forward, so that matter is not withdrawn. This matter is especially emotional,” says Bheki Cele. He states that the police officials that are taking care of the examination are in contact with the family of slain Senzo Meyiwa.
