Metro Police Officer In Ekurhuleni Suspended For Allegedly Expanding Fake News About Kidnappings. A Metro Police officer in Ekurhuleni was suspended from her position for supposedly expanding fake news.

A Metro Police officer in Ekurhuleni was suspended from her position for supposedly expanding fake news. A video recording of the police officer striking fear within people made rounds on the internet. In the video recording she allegedly says that Pakistani individuals were kidnapping learners from schools. She also went on to tell parents that she is at her own child’s school to come take her.

The statement caused chaos for the Gauteng Department Of Education as some family members were in fear, therefore running to go take their children from their schools. 13 schools were closed down because of the word that was spread; some of the schools were burned. The Ekurhuleni Mayor has stated that he met with the chief of police. The officer was suspended with immediate effect.

“We met with the chief of police and a decision has been taken to immediately suspend the officer. The decision has been made by the chief of police investigation to suspend the officer with immediate effect because she actually plunged the city into crisis,” says the Ekurhuleni Mayor.
