Man nabbed in possession of 1, 7 million rands on the verge of crossing over to Botswana
POLOKWANE – A 24-year-old suspect was arrested yesterday, 07 August 2019 by the police at Stockport border post for possession of undeclared cash of R1 750 000.00.
Members attached to the said border post were busy with their daily routine duties when the suspect arrived, intending to cross the border into Botswana. When searching his rented vehicle, they discovered a bag full of bank notes in the boot.
Investigations into the origin of the money are unfolding. The suspect is appearing in Lephalale Magistrate’s Court this morning on a charge of money laundering.
