Mandla “Mamphintsha” Maphumulo has also opened a case of assault against his girlfriend and musician, Bongekile “Babes Wodumo” Simelane.
“He laid the charge last night,” confirmed police spokesperson Brigadier Vish Naidoo.
Mamphintsha’s layer said on Tuesday that the musician was busy laying charges when they were interfered by the provincial task team and could finish the procedure.
He was due in court on Tuesday on the charges of assault due to a video that surfaced on Monday.
Outside court, Maphumulo admitted to beating Babes Wodumo, but also said that she was provoking.
“I hit her twice on her back, not on her face. At times she beats our drivers. She is also violent and fights a lot,” says Mamphintsha
Babes Wodumo’s father said that she was in hospital on Tuesday but a family spokesperson said that she was at home receiving treatment.
