KZN Residents Warned Of Upcoming Huge Storm. KwaZulu-natal has been having a really tough November month due to weather conditions.
KwaZulu-natal has been having a really tough November month due to weather conditions. First the province was prone to flooding which caused fear among some vehicle users, then on Tuesday it was stated that some people passed away due to a tornado. Now people have been warned about bad weather conditions on Thursday which could supposedly result in bad storms.
Sipho Hlomuka, the MEC of the KwaZulu-Natal COGTA, states that the storm is expected to be more bad than the Easter floods that people had to endure. The people were told via press conference about the weather conditions and the actions that need to be taken. The KwaZulu-Natal education department also released a statement saying that the students that are not writing exams on Thursday should be given a chance to go home immediately.
It was thus also stated that the ones that are writing should go home immediately after writing their exams. Children will not be going to school on Friday either. The MEC, Sipho Hlomuka, also stated that organisations should let their workers work from home. Some experts have warned of snakes that people in KwaZulu-Natal should be aware of as they will come to surface supposedly due to the heavy weather condition. “With the rain comes the smaller fossorial species, which are snakes that spend most of their time beneath the surface of the ground. As the water levels rise, the oxygen levels diminish and these snakes are forced to leave their subterranean homes,” says James Wittstock, reptile curator at Crocworld Conversation Centre, at the South Coast.
