Five victims out of the six victims were suspected of having consumed a substance which had them dropping in Wetton in Cape Town. Zahid Babdrodien, the MMC of Health in Cape Town, publicised it on Tuesday. Officials are still investigating the matter to know what led to the collapsing of the six victims.
“The South African Police Service is looking into the matter to establish the circumstances that led to this incident,” says the MMC of Health, parallel to what the Western Cape police said. Once the final result as to what made them collapse , the City’s Environmental Health Department will look further into what they consumed and other issues that lead to the collapse of the six victims. “We do not want to speculate on the possible cause until blood tests or clinical samples have been completed and interviews with those affected have been conducted,” says Zahid Babdrodien.
The result of the examination will prompt as to whether further action is needed from the authorities in order to ensure that the same thing doesn’t happen again. The six victims were found at three different areas at Wetton Road. According to News24, the incident happened a little while after people were given food and drinks, some of the people are searching for employment.
