NORTHERN CAPE – Police vigilance in the Northern Cape once again tops the charts when a 50-year-old man was arrested by Springbok Public Order Policing unit members, after he was found to be in possession of drugs worth almost R1.2 million.
It is reported on Saturday 06 June 2020 at about 23:00, while patrolling on the N7 road near Okiep, the members noticed a suspicious looking truck and immediately stopped and searched it. The truck was loaded with essential food and was en route from the Western Cape to Namibia.
Amongst the drugs were 4552 Mandrax tablets, 395g Tik and 126kg dagga. The suspect was also found in possession of cash of more than R5000, 00.
The suspect will appear in the Springbok Magistrates Court soon. Investigation continues.
