Bramley Police have detained a man who was apprehended during a house robbery in Sandown.
It is alleged that on 05 March 2019 in the early hours of the morning, an unknown man forced his way into the house where he threatened the victims with a firearm and demanded money from the victim. He was allegedly given an undisclosed amount of money but he got angry and demanded some more.
The suspect was busy assaulting and threatening the family with violence when he was overpowered and apprehended. The Security reaction unit was called to the scene and the suspect was subsequently arrested and detained by Bramley police. The money he had stolen was recovered and the police discovered that the suspect was using a toy gun.
The suspect is in hospital under Police guard due to injuries sustained during the scuffle. The 26-year-old man will appear in court once he is recovered.
