A government official was reportedly in the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court for an alleged sexual assault case. The man was charged for allegedly raping his 11-year-old niece. The incident reportedly happened on the 19th of November 2017. It also reported that the girl said there was only the two of them in the house. “I was playing outside when Papa called me to come play violin for in the living room. He asked me to sit on his lap,” the 11-year-old reportedly said.
The man then allegedly took of the girl’s underwear thereby sexually assaulting her. The girl reportedly went on saying that he sexually assaulted her for a second time on the floor then ended up telling her not to tell anyone about the incident. “Papa took off my panty and raped me. He then put a blanket on the floor and raped me again. He asked me if I was feeling pain, but even after I told him he didn’t stop; he continued to rape me. Afterwards, he bathed me and said I should not tell anyone,” the girl reportedly said.
According to the ‘City Press’ the young girl told her mother about the incident some weeks after it had happened. The mother reportedly said that the girl remembers the event because she wroted about it in her diary. The girl is supposedly the niece of the government official. Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini, a Gauteng police spokesperson, acknowledged that a case of sexual assault has been laid at the Mamelodi East police station. “One day she came home late and I shouted at her. She wept and said to me: ‘Mum, you don’t understand what I am going through. I was raped by a family member,’” the mother reportedly said.
The first thing the mother did was to call her sister. The next day they reportedly went to a doctor who acknowledged that the girl was involved in intercourse. She kept it mum towards the sister who has a 20 year marriage with government official. The sister found out about the story one year after a family relative talked about the incident. The sister was the one who laid a charge against the man. They wanted to keep the incident a secret from the sister because she was the one who provided for them.
