Former SA’s Got Talent Winner Lays Charges Of Assault Against Soldiers From SANDF. James Bhemgee, an opera musician from Cape Town, has laid charges of assault against the representatives from the South African National Defence Force.

James Bhemgee, an opera musician from Cape Town, has laid charges of assault against the representatives from the South African National Defence Force (SANDF). This was after he was allegedly violated and physically hit while there was a functional raid last week. He was sitting at a home at the time when they allegedly hit him.

According to News24, the 2010 SA’s Got Talent winner stated that there were five individuals in the house when the raid happened. “I was confused by what was happening. They entered and told everyone to get on the ground and started beating and searching everyone. They kept asking where the drugs are. I felt like a terrorist,” James Bhemgee told News 24. The opera musician laid a charge of assault at the Rockland police station in Mitchells Plain. He stated that he was recovering well but he might need to go see the doctor because he has been having pain in his rib cage.

“My head is spinning, but I’m taking my pain medication. Breathing in and out is hard because of the pain in my rib cage,” says James Bhemgee. Sergeant Noloyiso Rwexana said the examination is still ongoing. He also stated that the case is of assault with the intention to cause serious bodily harm. General Mafi Mgobozi, the South African National Defence Force spokesperson, say people are motivated to lay charges if they have been violated or hit by their representatives.
