Elliotdale Police arrested a 34-year old man for alleged murder of his girlfriend aged 20. It is alleged that the 20-year old woman was from Fameni Village on her way home to Futye Village, Elliotdale when came across the suspect (boyfriend) who was in the company of his friend.
The suspect drew his knife and stabbed the victim on her upper body. Both the suspect and his friend rushed the victim to hospital where she was certified dead on arrival. The victim was stabbed on Tuesday, 10 November 2020 at about 16h00 at Fameni Village, Elliotdale.
The motive behind the murder is believed to be jealousness. The deceased was identified as Zine Mvangeli aged 20. The suspect will appear before the Elliotdale Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, 12 November 2020 on a charge of murder.
