DURBAN – Yesterday afternoon at 14:30, Umbilo police officers were conducting an operation in Brand Road when they were stopped by two men who were robbed.
The men informed police officers that they were robbed at knifepoint and that the suspects stole their cellphone and cash. The police officers took down the description of the suspects and they followed the direction in which they fled. When the suspects saw the police approaching, they fled in different directions. The police officers gave chase and both suspects were placed under arrest.
The suspects were found in possession of a stolen cellphone and cash that was taken during the robbery. They were in possession of knives when they were arrested by police. The suspects aged 24 and 32 are appearing before the Durban Magistrate’s Court today on charges of robbery and possession of a dangerous weapons.
