Bujy Bikwa, commonly known as Bujy, went on Twitter to slam Nandos for allegedly using his name for their new bowl meal, ‘Boujee Bowl’. The media personality said the fast food franchise should give him respect for the name, also noting that he has been using the name since 2009 when he came into the entertainment industry.
“I’ve been Bujy stepping in the game since 2009 and @NandosSA comes with its Boujee Bowl as if the name is new…Nandos must pay respect where it’s due…I honestly don’t understand how they can just get awaywith using my name and not pay respect,” says the media personality. Nandos clapped back to Bujy’s tweet, telling him that he should have created his own bowl. “… [You still alive]? But then again…If you lived up to your name you would have had your own bowl.” Tweeps went on to respond to Bujy’s outrage towards Nandos.
Radio personality DJ Fresh says, “Bro!!!! I feel you…[I’m] busy suing Milk, fruits and Air as we tweet!!! NX!!!” One tweep says, “Surely there’s an alternative way of asking for some chicken???” One tweep asks if the name is on Bujy’s identification. The tweep says, “Where is it due? Is this name on your [Identity Document]?”One tweep corrected the media personality on the difference in spelling between the two. The tweep says, “I don’t see anywhere it says Bujy? Nandos please give him boujee bowl, [it seems as if his hungry].” Nandos replied to the tweep saying, “…he doesn’t know he’s been spelling it wrong since 2009.”
