Netcare 911 responded to reports of a plane crash on a farm off the N4 in the Hekpoort area.
Reports from the scene indicate that the pilot, an adult male in his sixties who was the only occupant on board escaped injury when he needed to perform a forced landing in an unoccupied area near to a private airstrip allegedly due to engine failure.
The plane, a Ryan Navion light aircraft had sustained damage when it hit a tree during the landing.
The pilot was assessed however declined ambulance transportation to hospital.
The Fire and Rescue Services were on scene and have cordoned off the area.
The circumstances leading to the aircraft coming down will be investigated by the relevant authorities.
