Joggers And Dog Owners Given An Opportunity To Do Their Routine. The minister of health, Zweli Mkhize, gave South African dog owners and joggers some hope on Wednesday.

The minister of health, Zweli Mkhize, gave South African dog owners and joggers some hope on Wednesday. Zweli Mkhize said these activities would still be allowed during the 21 day lockdown which starts on the 27th of March. The 21 day lockdown is meant to avert the transferring of the coronavirus, which has impacted hundreds of South African citizens.

Dr Zweli Mhize states that the lockdown that was announced by President Cyril Ramaphosa on Monday is meant to limit contact of people as much as possible, it is also concentrated on stopping the gathering of a large number of individuals. The lockdown allows several other activities such as shopping for important items such as medicine and food, it also allows people to collect grants and to seek health care. The president stated the workers that have been exempted from the lockdown which includes the army, workers in the distribution of food and police officials.

The largest rises in the numbers of infected people since yesterday include people in Gauteng with an increase of 64, KwaZulu-Natal with an increase of 11, Western Cape with an increase of 61 and the Free State with an increase of 15. It is currently reported that there are now 366 incidents in Gauteng. A cluster of the cases appear to be in Cape Town, Ekurhuleni, Sandton and Tshwane, according to the health minister. Zweli Mkhize says currently three health officials have come out positive for the coronavirus.
