Two Houses Burnt Down Due To Alleged Rumours That Tazne van Wyk Was Being Hidden There. Parow police officers and Public Order Police were sent to two houses that were burned.

Parow police officers and Public Order Police were sent to two houses that were burned. The houses were set on fire after the man accused of the killing of 8-year-old Tazne van Wyk’s murder, Moehydien Pangaker, had his first court appearance at the Goodwood Magistrate’s Court on Friday, according to Western Cape cops. The demonstrators allegedly set the two houses on fire due to supposed rumours that Tazne van Wyk was being kept there.

The two houses are allegedly brothels. Franchesca Walker, the ward councillor, says one house is in Parow Street and one is in Carstens Road. According to the ward councillor, the demonstrators requested that the brothels be closed down. While the court session was ongoing, men and women threatened to set the two houses on fire. A while after Pangkager appeared in court, the demonstrators walked from the court at Goodwill and went to Parow to set the houses on fire.

The suspect’s lawyer told the court that he can’t sit nor stand due to him allegedly having been beaten by police officials. One car was also flipped over, allegedly by the demonstrators after Moehydien Pangaker’s appearance in court. The proceeding has been moved to the 17th of April for further examination.
