Cape Town Women Scammed By Fake Modelling Agency, N*ked Pictures Posted On WhatsApp. The ladies from Worcester were tricked into sending photographs of themselves through the communication medium (WhatsApp).

Some women that were taken by a supposed modelling agency were horrified when they found naked and almost naked images of themselves going around on WhatsApp in Worcester in the Western Cape. The ladies from Worcester were tricked into sending photographs of themselves through the communication medium (WhatsApp). The ladies were promised a to be paid amounts ranging from R10 000 and R20 000, they were also promised modelling contracts.

Two of the victims told Netwerk24 how they feel. 24-year-old Nicole says, “I feel so stupid that I fell for the scam.” 21-year-old Charlin says, “It appeared to me that they were a genuine agency. I feel so embarrassed. I hardly want to stick my head ou the door, and for many of the girls it’s even worse.” The ladies did not get the money and the contracts that they were promise by the supposed agency.

The women were told by the family members and friends when the images started making rounds on WhatsApp. Several people have become victims of the same scam, with a lot of them being extorted for money. Social media law expert, Emma Sadleir, states that providing someone with nude images is not a good idea. “If someone asks you to send them any pornographic material, do not send them anything,” says Emma Sadleir.
