Black Twitter Comments On Dr Esther Mahlangu After She Became First South African To Paint A Rolls-Royce #EstherMahlangu. The showcasing of the art began on the 13th of February and ends on the 16th of February at ‘The Melrose Gallery’ in Cape Town.

Doctor Esther Mahlangu made history by becoming the first South African artist to be given the opportunity to make a painting for a customised Rolls-Royce Phantom. The showcasing of the art began on the 13th of February and ends on the 16th of February at ‘The Melrose Gallery’ in Cape Town. The famous art of the isiNdebele painter has been included to enhance the beauty of one of the most loved luxury vehicles.

The Melrose Gallery spoke about the art work of the artist. “Her artworks are geometric, modern and abstract in nature speaking to the natural order and balance inherent in sacred geometry and all things. Known as a ‘disruptor’ from an early age, Mam Esther as she is affectionately known, was the first person to reimagine traditional Ndebele house painting onto contemporary platforms,” says The Melrose Gallery. Black Twitter has also went on to commend the legendary painter for her work.

One tweep says, “Mama [Esther Mahlangu] probably has back pains from carrying the whole Ndebele culture on her back alone.” One tweep says, “At this rate God is gonna ask Gogo [Esther Mahlangu] to come paint His throne.” One tweep says, “If there’s one person I admire, it’s uMam’ [Esther Mahlangu]. She lets her moves make noise, while she stacks her paper.” One tweep jokingly spoke about how she could transform Santorini. The tweep says, “If Dr Esther Mahlangu could see this place (Santorini)…she’d probably say “Hold my drink” that’s how amazing she is…”
