Businessman Patrice Motsepe Apologises For Saying Africa Loves Trump. Businessman and philanthropist Patrice Motsepe got a lot of backlash for what he said to United States of America president Donald Trump about Africa.

Businessman and philanthropist Patrice Motsepe got a lot of backlash for what he said to United States of America president Donald Trump about Africa. The Mamelodi Sundowns president told Donald Trump at the World Ecoomic Forum in Davos in Switzerland that he is loved by Africa. He has recently apologised for what he said at the event last week.

He also states that being on a good note with the United States of America is advantageous to South Africa and the African continent as a whole. At the event Patrice Motsepe said; “Africa loves America. Africa loves you. It’s very, very important. We want America to do well. We want you to do well. The success of America is the success of the rest of the world.” Several social media users bashed the businessman for what he said but he had a reason for his remarks.

“The debate also exposed me to the views of Africans who disagreed with my remarks. I have a duty to listen to these differing views and would like to apologise. I do not have the right to speak on behalf of anybody except myself,” says Patrice Motsepe in the statement. He went on to say that his remarks were aimed at bringing in a discussion between the Trump administration and the African political and business leaders. He states that Africa has been seen as anti-American therefore affecting the country’s ability to attract forein investors and creating work.
