One Twitter user went on to the social media platform to detail how she was allegedly robbed by two women and an elderly lady in Johannesburg. The woman was at a supermarket when the attempt to rob her began. The Twitter user says this is a smart robbery.
“I’m so sad Guys…Living in Jozi is [something] else. I literally just got robbed by two ladies [and] a Granny…” One of the women told her that one of her friends works at the store and gets bonuses when buying groceries under her name. “I was busy buying my Supper for today. Then this lady was busy buying baby things [and] making small convos about how [her child] is 5 months [and] crèche drama…Then [before] we went to pay she said her who works there, being Game store that’s around McDonalds…gets incentive bonuses when buying [groceries] under her name so do I mind if she takes my things [and] they bought under her [staff] name for points. Me being me, I said I don’t mind.”
She then stated that one woman by the name of Lebo who supposedly works at the store was called to fetch the trolley thereby explaining that she gets bonuses and is going to take the trolley to collect her points and the Twitter user will pay when she gets back. “…I’m there waiting with the lady, [and] Lebo comes back to say Game is closing so we must wait outside we will use the other door to pay. We outside [and] some granny comes saying she just dropped of her groceries by Lebo. Lebo comes back [and] say we must each go pay, so the lady who initially told me about this whole thing asks me to hold her bag while she goes to pay. She then disappeared with uLebo to go pay…”
“She then disappeared with [Lebo] to go pay for her things then they came back [and] I gave her bag. Then it was my turn [and] I was asked to leave my bag [and] phone behind when I asked why, I was told there’s a scanner [and] bags, phones not allowed. [I refused then] with my phone [and] bag…Then granny then went on to say “Hai shame its her first time I understand why you don’t trust, I’ve been doing this for a while”…Lebo then said “ohky let me go put your bag inside, when we getto the scanner we will see what we do with your phone” I agreed…”
“She then went gone with my bag [and] the grannies bag. The initiator was called then I was told to go around Game there’s a door there, Lebo is waiting so I can pay ([Before] Lebo went gone with bag, she gave me a piece of paper and said I must hold it].” She was then told by an employee that there’s no person by the name of Lebo at the certain store. “I walked there [and] stood for a while. [Some] man [from] Game that was knocking off then told me there’s no Lebo working for Game. When I walked back to where I left the granny and initiator, they were Gone. Went on my banking app to check my balane, I’m on R0.” The weirdest thing was not the fact that they gave the lady her own banking pin, they wroteit on a piece of paper for her. “Paper I was given. Has my Bank pin,” says the Twitter user.
