Bangladeshi Member Of Parliament Allegedly Hired 8 Lookalikes To Write Her Tests. A Bangladeshi Member of Parliament has been removed from university.

A Bangladeshi Member of Parliament has been removed from university. The Member of Parliament, Tamanna Nusrat, has been accused of allegedly hiring eight people that look like her to write her exams in her place, according to officials on Monday. She is from the Bangladesh ruling party, Awami League party.

She was sworn into parliament in 2018. Tamanna Nusrat has allegedly paid the people that look like her to write about 13 tests for her. The story rised after news service Nargorik TV got into a test venue and approached one of the women who is standing as the Member of Parliament. The video has made rounds on the internet. She was working towards a Bachelor of Arts degree at the Bangladesh Open University.

The Bangladesh Open University Vice Chancellor, Professor MA Mannan told AFP that “We expelled her because she has committed a crime. A crime is a crime. We have cancelled her enrolment. She will never be able to get admitted here again.” One of the university’s officials states that the people that were writing in her place were protected by her bodyguards. “The proxy students were protected by the MPs musclemen when they sat for the tests. Everybody knew it but nobody uttered a word because she is from a very influential family,” says the university official. Cheating and the leaking of question papers before exams is not uncommon in Bangladesh, which has resulted in authorities averting from taking out the results.
