A lot of South Africans have been victims of pickpocket thieves. This issue has left people confused as to how they lost their devices. Some people just think that they might have lost it and forget that stranger that they were talking to near the mall.
Pickpocket thieves are quite smooth and it’s rare for people to know that they have been stolen from by these thieves. In August, people at a drinking place in the Eastern Cape were victims of pickpocket thieves. These men were seen to be sparking conversations with their victims, thereby occupying them. When the victims are occupied the thieves thus pickpocket them, then they pass on the items to each other.
In other cases people tend to grab their victims by their pants playfully, supposedly demonstrating to them what they would have done if they (thieves) were violent. The act of grabbing the victims by their pants is one that is largely used by the criminals. They use this as a way of distracting the victim from what is happening. In one of the clips a man is seen casually speaking to a victim, thereby grabbing him by the pants, and then steals an item from the victims pants, putting the items in a plastic bag he had.
