Red Bull Sued For Not Giving People Wings. Beverage giant Red Bull is set to pay unhappy consumers for its supposed false advertising.

Beverage giant Red Bull is set to pay unhappy consumers for its supposed false advertising. Consumers felt as if the company wrongfully guaranteed that they’ll get wings after drinking their energy drink. According to Newsweek report, a Canadian by the name of Miachael Attar was the one who filed for legal action against the company in 2016.

The company has acknowledged to paying an estimated amount of R10 million in settlements for the class-action lawsuit. However, Canadian citizens who drank the Red Bull will be the ones to gain from the win, the citizens should have drank the energy drank between 1 January 2007 and 31 July 2019. The citizens will get an estimate of R115 each.

According to BevNet, the settlement follows five years after Red Bull GmbH acknowledged paying an estimated amount of R199 million in the United States of America. The Red Bull consumers in the United State of America who bought the product over the former 10 years before the settlement were given an option of either getting $10 cash or getting two Red Bull items that were valued at up to $15. The Canadian man attempted to be a part of the settlement but he wasn’t allowed because he was Canadian.

Attar filed his own legal action against the company, referencing studies that disproved the supposed advantages of taurine, which is a chemical ingredient that is used in a lot of energy drinks. He went on to claim that the energy drink company infringed the Quebec Consumer Protection Act by claiming that it was more operative than a cheaper caffeinated drink.
