Former soccer star Mark Batchelor was found dead near his home in Olivedale in Johannesburg. He was shot by two unknown persons that were driving a motorbike. They shot him as he was about to get into his driveway on Monday night. Lieutenant Colonel Lungelo Dlamini, the police spokesperson, acknowledged that the event happened.
The two unknown persons attacked him as he was about to get into his driveway. The authorities have not found the reason for the killing yet, they are still investigating the matter. “Police are investigating a murder case after former soccer player, Marc Batchelor was attacked by two men driving a motorbike in Olivedale outside his house…The suspects then drove away without taking anything. The motive for the attack is still unknown. No one has been arrested,” says the police spokesperson.
The former soccer player reportedly had close links to numerous mob figures such as being friends with Nafiz Modak. The news were released on the Crime Air Network’s (a crime fighting organisation) social media account. The soccer player was also one of the witnesses in the case of Oscar Pistorius and Reeva Steenkamp, the former soccer player told the court about the runner’s anger problems. Tweeps went on to Twitter to send their condolences to his family.
