Viewers Sign Petition To Get Zodwa Wabantu’s ‘Zodwa Uncensored’ Off Their Screens. Zodwa Wabantu has been under fire this past weekend because of her comments about gay people on her Moja Love reality show ‘Zodwa Uncensored’.

Zodwa Wabantu has been under fire this past weekend because of her comments about gay people on her Moja Love reality show ‘Zodwa Uncensored’. Tweeps have been furious at the comments she made against gay people, some people have deemed her comments as hate speech and homophobic.

Zodwa said: “Their problem is that they [gay] are convinced that they have a vagina, while they have a penis. We [ladies] have vagina. We accommodate you guys because you wear make-up and when we talk about men you always there echoing the stories.” The frustration led to one viewer creating a petition that a large number of other viewers signed. The petition asks Moja Love to cancel the reality show.

The petition description says, “Zodwa Wabantu’s reality show which broadcasts on DSTV Channel 157 #ZodwaUncensored has revealed that Zodwa Wabantu is a homophobic and transphobic through her ignorant comments she made on last week’s episode stating that gay men should not behave like women because they do not have vaginas but women do and she also stated that gay people are being done a favour to even be allowed to exist [at] the same spaces. These comments are homophobic and transphobic therefore something has to be done.”

The petition description went on to say that the producers and other people that watched the show before it was broadcast were supposed to notice the homophobia in the show before they released it. The description says, “Zodwa WaBantu’s show is on a live broadcastwhich means these comments went through several producers or stages before it was decided that it will be broadcast without any person picking up that these comments were homophobic therefore pose a threat to the members of the LGBT+ at large.”

The aim of the person who started the petition is to have 5000 people sign the petition, there are currently over 3400 people who signed the petition and its quickly rising. Some of the people went on twitter to lay their frustrations.
