SA MPs Who Have Resigned From Parliament 2019. President Cyril Ramaphosa showed people the new dawn and has made a huge change in the appointment of minister including 50% of women.

President Cyril Ramaphosa showed people the new dawn and has made a huge change in the appointment of minister including 50% of women. However, some of our ministers seem to be ending their journey in the serving of people in South Africa. These are eight ministers who have ended their journey in 2019, from the latest to the the first one.

Derek Hanekom

Derek Hanekom becomes the latest member of parliament to resign, just after Bathabile Dlamini today (Tuesday). Derek Hanekom was the Minister of Tourism in South Africa. He was not included in the current cabinet of President Cyril Ramaphosa’s cabinet.

Bathabile Dlamini

Bathabile Dlamini is the current member of parliament that has hanged her coat. Her resignation letter has been making rounds on the internet today. She worked as the Minister of Women to the presidency as well as the Social Development Minister. She has been turmoil especially during her court proceedings in the SASSA case in previous years.

Jeff Radebe

Jeff Radebe is the longest serving member of parliament in South Africa. He has been the member of parliament for 25 years. He was appointed the Minister of Energy by President Cyril Ramaphosa in 2018. The former member of parliament ended his time in parliament on the 10th of June.

Siyabonga Cwele

Siyabonga Cwele also resigned from his position as the member of parliament. He resigned on the same day as Jeff Radebe. He was previously the Minister of Home Affairs, a position he served from 2018 till 2019. The former member of parliament is also a certified doctor.

Tokozile Xasa

Tokozile Xasa resigned on the 7th of June as a member of parliament. She was formerly the minister of sports and recreation, as well as the spokesperson of the African National Congress Women’s League. Tokozile Xasa didn’t say why she was resigning from being a member of parliament.

Susan Shabangu

Susan Shabangu resigned on the 6th of June as a member of parliament. She was the Minister for Women in the presidency, she was also a minister of social development. She started being a minister in 2009, under former President Jacob Zuma’s administration.

Dipuo Letsatsi-Duba

Dipuoo Letsatsi-Duba resigned on the 6th of june, just after Nomaindia Mfeketo, which made her the second member of parliament to resign this year. She was the Minister of State Security. Ayanda Dlodlo took her position as the Minister of State Security.

Nomaindia Mfeketo

Nomaindia Mfeketo stepped down as a member of parliament on the 5th of June. She was the first member of parliament to resign when she wasn’t elected in President Cyril Ramaphosa’s cabinet. She started her career as a Minister in 1998. She was also the deputy speaker of the National Assembly.
