A 93-year-old lady was recently arrested by the United Kingdom’s biggest police force. The woman has not committed any crime. She wanted to be arrested as part of her wish before she dies. One Twitter user by the name of Pam Smith thanked the police from Grand Manchester for helping her grandmother, the 93-year-old woman by the name of Josie Birds, get one of her dying wishes.
Pam Smith says,“A big thank you to @gmpolice for ‘arresting’ my Gran Josie today. She is 93 years old and her health is failing, and she wanted to be arrested for something before it’s too late.” The granddaughter also said that her grandmother has a good heart. “She has a heart of gold and thoroughly enjoyed it today. Thank you for granting her wishes,” says the granddaughter.
Pam Smith says the police have made her grandmother a very happy woman by arresting her. The woman wanted to do this while she currently has the ability to enjoy the moment. The granddaughter says that her grandmother has been a good for her whole life and wanted to have a moment that she could remember. The Great Manchester police released a statement about the event that happened.
“A few weeks ago, a member of the community approached a GMP PCSO from the North Manchester division with a slightly unusual request…The request was for the grandmother to be ‘arrested’ and be taken to one of our police stations so she could experience what it was like to be on the wrong side of the law,” says the Great Manchester police in a statement.
