The South African Police Service welcomes the rape sentencing that was handed down to 51-year-old accused in the Galeshewe Magistrates’ Court on 20 June 2019. Kagisho Tsamaisi was sentenced to 15-years imprisonment for the rape of a 67-year-old female.
On 18 June 2017, at about 3am, the accused pounced on the victim while she was sleeping in her house in Roodepan, Kimberley. He pinned her down on the bed and raped her. The victim was taken to hospital as she sustained injuries during the incident. The accused was arrested three days later after police followed up on information.
