The Galeshewe police welcomes the 15-years imprisonment sentence handed down to a 21-year-old rape accused.
Elliot Riet was recently sentenced to 15-years imprisonment by the Kimberley Regional Court. He was further handed two-years for housebreaking and 5-years for attempted rape.
Riet broke into a shanty on 02 February 2017 in the evening and raped a 36-year-old woman, he also attempted to rape a 31-year-old woman in February 2017.
He was arrested on 05 February 2017 after meticulous investigation by Detective Sergeant Lesego Oliphant.
The Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences Investigations (FCS) Commander, Lt Col Marli Strydom applauded the investigators, Detective Warrant Officer Zeph and Detective Sergeant Lesego Oliphant for the job well done.
